GraffitiOne of the many improvements to make it’s way into Graffiti 1.1 is the support for migrating content from dasBlog into GraffitiCMS.  Omar posted about this the other day.

To find this simply use the migrator tool by logging into the control panel, clicking site options, then utilities, then migrator.  Pick dasBlog and import away.

Omar has also written a handy 301 redirector plugin for Graffiti that will ensure your old link still function.

One tip about migrating content is that you should be sure to create the categories you want to migrate posts into before you begin the migration process.

Any plans to add similar blog import features to CS?

No, that’s not currently on the roadmap, but I’ll take your comment as a vote that it should be. We are currently looking at taking some of the best stuff (custom navigation, file uploading, etc) from graffiti and pushing it into CS.

In a way Graffiti is a great lightweight way for us to try out new things like this, get feedback on it, and then decide if it should be in the "mothership".

Hmmm… ok. I’ll have to come up with a contingency plan then. Usually it works the other way around. The big pricey products get the good stuff first and those enhancements trickle down to the affordable options.

As a developer I can see how trying things on smaller products would be nice, but you can imagine as a CS customer why I’d expect it to be first priority. Thanks for the consideration though. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Ryan. To clarify. Just because it’s not on the roadmap doesn’t mean that we won’t do it. There are a LOT of features in Graffiti (since it was built as a different product with a different purpose) that we are going to be pushing into CS.

I think the flow also works the other way eventually. Trust me that Community Server gets the highest % of dev attention at Telligent. :-)

Totally understand. Thanks for the replies.
